Even as it completes its first year of commercial operations on 23-Mar-09, the GMR Group promoted Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad has been rated as the fifth most service oriented amongst the world’s top ten airports by scoring 4.41 on a 1-5 scale in overall passenger satisfaction with the airport.

GMR Hyderabad International Airport (GHIAL), and MAS Aerospace Engineering (MAE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines sealed an agreement (27-Feb-09) to set up a 50:50 joint venture Airframe Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) company in Hyderabad.

With an aim to further improve passenger experience at the airport; two pre-paid taxi counters were inaugurated (13-Nov-08) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad. The two pre-paid taxi counters are located at the arrival ramp of the Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) in the airport and the Public Transportation Centre (PTC).

Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is now connected with HITEC City with the introduction of aeroexpress bus service. Passengers from the IT hub at HITEC City and adjoining areas at Kukatpally, Kondapur, Madhapur, Miyapur, Gachibowli and Jubilee Hills can now avail of these services at the shelter located opposite Silparamam. The first bus service was launched on 01-Jun-08.
