Effective 29-Mar when Europe changes to daylight saving time, Frankfurt Airport's Summer Timetable 2009 will feature 4,400 passenger and 210 cargo flight departures per week. This represents a slight 4.0% reduction in the number of flight offerings compared to last year's summer schedule.

(XFN Asia) India Hospitality Corp stated its unit, SkyGourmet Catering Pvt Ltd, has entered into an air catering contract with Lufthansa for its flights to Frankfurt from Pune for an undisclosed amount. Lufthansa's new six weekly flights from Pune city in the western Indian state of Maharashtra are expected to commence on 01-Jul-08.

From 1 July 2008, Lufthansa will introduce new non-stop flights between Pune and Frankfurt. The new six weekly flights are operated by an Airbus A319, offering a total of 48 seats in an all-business class configuration.This new Lufthansa Business Jet service will be the first to link Pune non-stop to Europe, and will offer significant convenience for passengers.

Lufthansa is further expanding its services to key Indian cities for business and leisure travellers alike. From 1 July 2008, Germany’s largest airline will launch a new route from Frankfurt to Pune in western India. In all comfort passengers will be able to reach Pune non-stop, six times a week in an Airbus A319 which has been refitted as a Business Jet. “The Lufthansa services are increasing in line with the ongoing, very dynamic economic development in India,” said Dr. Karl-Rudolf Rupprecht, Senior Vice President Hub Management Frankfurt. “With seven non-stop destinations and 55 flights per week, Lufthansa remains the leading European airline in India. We have almost quadrupled our flights to India since 2001, when we operated 15 flights per week to three destinations.”

Lufthansa reportedly plans to launch Munich-Mumbai service in early 2008. The carrier currently operates 45 weekly services to six destinations in India, including Kolkata, added to the network on 01-Dec-06.
