Mahbub Zamil was appointed as the new Chairman of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, as the Bangladesh Government aims to turn around the struggling carrier. Mr Zamil is additionally head of the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry.

BANGLADESH :
Air India has been awarded a contract by Bangladesh Biman Airlines for the overhaul/repair of Pratt & Whitney PW 4000 engines. The terms of contract also include providing on-wing support to Bimans engine fleet at Dhaka and at other stations. The period of contract is three years and the approximate value of the contract is USD20 million.
