Consequent to the withdrawal of the strike by the pilots, Air India has already initiated action necessary for the restoration of normal operations on its domestic sectors and flights to the neighbouring countries, which were affected in the last 10 days.

In the contempt proceeding before the Hon’ble Delhi High Court against the striking ICPA pilots today, the Air India Management assured the Hon’ble Delhi High Court that as directed by the Hon’ble Court, if the pilots call off their strike then the Management would reconsider the termination of the pilots within two weeks of their making an appeal.

CAE announced plans to establish a training centre in Bangalore for up to 1,000 pilots p/a. The centre will open by the end of calendar 2007 and involves an investment of approximately USD20 million and would likely include the participation of a partner. CAE stated it is evaluating partnership possibilities. The facility would initially offer pilot, cabin crew and maintenance training.
