IndiGo, the award-winning low-fare airline that is redefining the airline business in India, took the delivery of its 25th A320 aircraft on the opening day of the Hyderabad Air Show, ‘India Aviation 2010’. The delivered aircraft is powered by IAE engines. The delivery ceremony was presided over by Honourable Minister for Civil Aviation, Shri Praful Patel.

INDIA : The first of the new generation Airbus A320 aircraft on order joined the Air India fleet today, with the arrival of a mint fresh aircraft at Begumpet Airport, Hyderabad, where India Aviation 2010, India’s first civilian air show is on. The aircraft also becomes the 74th own aircraft of the 111 on order, to join Air India’s fleet.

Lufthansa Technik is to supply components for the three Airbus A310F aircraft belonging to Indian cargo airline Deccan Cargo and Express Logistics Pvt. Ltd. (DCEL). The company has signed a ten-year Total Component Support (TCS®) contract to this effect, under which it will repair and overhaul the A310F fleet’s components. Local subsidiary Lufthansa Technik Services India will ensure direct on-site supply of components to the airline’s home base in Bangalore.

Singapore Technologies Aerospace Ltd (ST Aerospace) today announced its Panama facility has redelivered its first Embraer E-190 aircraft to Copa Airlines after maintenance. The Boeing Company has completed major assembly of the first set of wings for the 747-8 Freighter. The new 135-foot 3-inch (41.2 m) wings incorporate the latest aerodynamic technologies to fly farther and more efficiently. The advanced airfoil provides improved overall performance and greater fuel capacity.

INDIA : Air India has successfully carried out a major ‘2C’ Check for the first time on an Airbus 330 aircraft resulting in substantial savings in foreign exchange. The ‘2C’ check was carried out with in-house expertise. The aircraft, after the major check, was test flown at Mumbai today. Air India has two leased Airbus 330 aircraft in its fleet.

Air India y SR Technics prolongan su contrato


SR Technics and Air India are extending their collaboration. The existing engine services contract for the maintenance of Air India Express’ CFM56-7B engines has been expanded to include the CFM56-5B engines of Air India’s Airbus A320 Family fleet. The fleet, which currently consists of 27 Airbus-A320 Family aircraft, is planned to be increased to 43 aircraft by 2010.
