GoAir gets first of its 20 Airbus aircrafts

India: (CAPA) GoAir, the low cost subsidiary of the Wadia Group has received the first of its 20 A320s on 04-Oct-07. The carrier had placed the order for 20 A320s for USD1.2 billion.
The airline has now increased its fleet size to five and expects to take delivery of the second aircraft in Nov-07. The delivery is expected to be completed in the next 18 months.
The carrier aims to increase services from 60 daily services to 90 in the near future as a result of increase in passenger traffic.
The airline is hopeful that by Mar-08 it would be able to increase fleet size to seven.
Meanwhile, GoAir’s MD, Jeh Wadia, has stated that GoAir's aim is not to become an international airline but to achieve its target of carrying 15 million passengers. He has also ruled out apprehensions that the group is to sell 26% stake to strategic investors.
