Etihad Airways announced plans to triple capacity to India in the next 18 months, subject to government approval. The carrier plans to launch new services to Southern India and the introduction of a second daily service to Mumbai and increase in Delhi frequency from three times weekly to daily.
According to Regional General Manager, Asia Pacific, Charles Phelps-Penry, “we want to] at least triple the number of services we fly to and from India in the course of the next 12 to 18 months. Initially, our focus will be on the South. We'd like to add two destinations this year, if we get permission. [It will be two out of] Kochi, Bangalore, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram and Hyderabad". |
