Bangalore awards retail and F&B contracts

Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) awarded (14-Dec-06) HMSHost Corporation, an Autogrill Group subsidiary, a seven year-contract (with a two-year extension option) to operate F&B concessions at Bangalore International Airport.
Meanwhile, BIAL awarded The Nuance Group/Shoppers Stop JV a USD150 million five-year contract to operate 3,200 sqm of retail space at the airports international and domestic terminals. Both contracts are due to take effect from Apr-08, when the new airport opens.
Meanwhile, BIAL announced (04-Dec-06) construction work at Bangalore International Airport is 42% complete. Construction of the greenfield airport commenced 17 months ago.
