DIAL responds to incident of IndiGo service
In the incident involving Indigo Airlines' flight (6E-334) from Goa to Delhi on 31-Jan-09, wherein post unruly behavior of a passenger on board, the pilot asked for priority landing and was then taken to an isolated bay after following the necessary procedure.

 

DIAL, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), Delhi Police, National Security Guard (NSG), and Bomb Detection & Disposal Squad (BDDS), complete with sniffer dogs, Airlines, Fire, Ambulance facilities and all agencies involved responded immediately.

During this time vehicular movement was restricted at Airside till late evening. Due to this, the service vehicles of the airlines took longer to reach the aircraft to facilitate or handle the flights. Normal operation resumed late in the evening. However, due to the above incident - some flights got delayed.

Passengers present in the Indigo Airlines (6E - 334) aircraft were later deboarded and frisked at the airside. The passengers were thereafter taken to a separately barricaded area of the Arrival Terminal building. Information was provided to friends and relatives of the passengers by the concerned Airlines and IGI Airport Staff.
