Capt. (Ms) Chameli Krottapalli has become the first lady Commander of Air India Express, the international budget carrier of Air India.
Air India Express, in recognition of this achievement has scheduled an All Women Crew flight on 27-Jul-08, with her in Command of the cockpit.
The flight IX-662/661 will operate on the Chennai-Singapore-Chennai sector. The flight departs Chennai at 1425 hrs. and arrives in Singapore at 2100 hrs. (Local Time). The return flight departs Singapore at 2210 hrs. (Local Time) and arrives in Chennai at 2330 hrs.
Capt. (Ms) Krottapalli joined Air India Express in Nov-04. The other crew members of the flight are Capt. (Ms) Amrit Namdhari, Co-Pilot and Cabin Crew Ms S. Banu, Ms. P. Bhutia, Ms S. Divya and Ms Binal Valand.
The airline has a total of 76 pilots of which six are lady pilots.
