IndiGo, the award-winning low-fare airline that is redefining the airline business in India, took the delivery of its 25th A320 aircraft on the opening day of the Hyderabad Air Show, ‘India Aviation 2010’. The delivered aircraft is powered by IAE engines. The delivery ceremony was presided over by Honourable Minister for Civil Aviation, Shri Praful Patel.

INDIA : GE Aviation and India’s national carrier Air India have signed a GE Branded Services Agreement (GBSA) under which GE Aviation will provide technical support as Air India offers maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for the GEnx-1B engine and further advances its plans to become a global MRO service provider.

INDIA : The first of the new generation Airbus A320 aircraft on order joined the Air India fleet today, with the arrival of a mint fresh aircraft at Begumpet Airport, Hyderabad, where India Aviation 2010, India’s first civilian air show is on. The aircraft also becomes the 74th own aircraft of the 111 on order, to join Air India’s fleet.

The India Aviation 2010 international exhibition at the Begumpet air base here got off to a sombre start today when an aircraft ‘Kiran HJT-16’ of the Indian Navy’s ‘Sagar Pawan’ aerobatic team crashed into a residential building off the airport. The mishap occurred just when the aircraft in formation were about to sign off from an awe inspiring manoeuvre at the flying display which last for 25 minutes.

Since the first CFM56 engines entered service with Jet Airways in 1994, CFM International's presence in India and Southern Asia has steadily grown. Today, there are more then 500 CFM56 engines in service or on order in the region powering Airbus and Boeing aircraft for Air India, Air India Express, Go Air, and SpiceJet, as well as airlines in Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka.

Delivering on a commitment made to its customers in 2007, CFM International (CFM) today formally opened the new CFM56 Training Center here. The Hyderabad facility, the fourth such engine maintenance training center for CFM56 customers worldwide, has the capacity to train 500 engineers annually and mirrors those in China, France, and the United States.
